Untreated, Western Red Cedar is naturally rot resistant. While untreated Western Red Cedar is naturally resistant to rot, we highly recommend using OSMO stain to preserve its colour and protect against weathering, cracking, and expansion. Staining enhances the cedar’s durability, ensuring it maintains its appearance and integrity over time.
